CENTRAL BAND to be broadcast on BBC Radio 2
The Central Band will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2's Listen To The Band Programme on 11 May 2007 at 9.30pm. The weekly half-hour show, hosted by Frank Renton features the UK's top bands.
This week's show will be devoted to the Central Band and will feature music from the Band's latest CD 'The Shadow of Your Smile'.
The Band recorded the session in March this year at the BBC's Maida Vale recording studios. This will be the Central Band's second appearance on the show.

CENTRAL BAND to record for BBC again
The Central Band of The Royal British Legion is to record a programme for BBC Radio 2's 'Listen to the Band' featuring music from the Band's latest CD 'The Shadow of Your Smile'.
The Band recorded a similar programme at the BBC's Maida Vale studios last year. The broadcast will be a Friday evening at 9pm and the date is yet to be announced.

CENTRAL BAND entertains the crowds at Wimbledon Tennis Championships
The Central Band was
entertaining the crowds on 'Henman Hill' and later on the hallowed turf of Centre Court on both Ladies' and Men's Finals Days.
The Band gave a two hour concert on The Hill for the gathering crowds on each day before moving on to Centre Court to play prior to each match. Captain David Cole engaged the crowd, who joined in enthusiastically.

CENTRAL BAND Broadcast on BBC Radio 2
On 2 September 2005 the Central Band was broadcast on BBC Radio 2's Listen To The Band Programme. The half-hour show, hosted by Frank Renton features the UK's top bands. This week's show was devoted to the Central Band who recorded it in May this year at the BBC's Maida Vale recording studios. 25–29 AUGUST 2005 SPANISH CONCERTS A SUCCESS
The Central Band completed a series of three concerts in Torrevieja, Spain as part of the Third Torrevieja Band Festival. Audiences grew from around 1000 people to 3000 people on the final night, performed in the stunning open air quayside auditorium in Torrevieja. A resounding success!
7 JUNE 2005 CENTRAL BAND Performs with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
On 6 June 2005 the Central Band of The Royal British Legion was privileged to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Chorus and Members of St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, Chapel Royal St James' Palace, St George's Chapel Windsor and Chapel Royal Hampton Court Boys' choirs at Central Hall Westminster. The concert was to commemorate the end of the Second World War and was in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. The concert included commissions from the Queen to the Master of the Queen's Music, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. The Central Band performed the world premiere of a new concert march Beacons of Hope, composed by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and joined the orchestra and choirs in the world premiere of Commemoration Sixty, conducted by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. The concert was recorded by the BBC and will be broadcast in full on Radio 3 at 7.30pm on Tuesday 14 June 2005.
